Oct. 26th, 2007 08:44 pmGoing to start reading Andreas Schlüter's "Heiße Spur aus Afrika" with Tete in about half an hour. Wheee! Such a cute book!
Started reading "The Eyre Affair" today. Am about 80 pages in so far. Wow, so much fun! So much! And the have Dodos! DODOS! Pink Dodos, even, who accidentally have some flamingo DNA in them. In the 80s! *g* Also, they have an inventor called Mycroft. Some of the citations at chapter-openings are from a book the main character later wrote herself or taken from her 'biography'. Her name is Thursday because she was born on a thursday. Her mother's name was Wednesday, though, and she was born on a Sunday. Go figure.
Thousands of cute little details and stuff and... *is in love*
Mwah, so good! So what I needed after 500 pages of speed-reading Dracula. Which wasn't bad, per se, but not the kind of book you - or, well, I - read for pleasure and fun.
