So, I've added a bunch of people yesterday/today, and saying hi only sounds polite. The thing is, I don't have a lot of very interesting things to say right now. Apart from spamming people about hamsters, but I promised less of that, so no hamsters today.
I don't know if I should introduce myself or something... I guess most stuff in in my profile or the friending-meme entry or somewhere, but feel free to ask anything, I don't bite. :)
I'm currently in love with the new season of Torchwood. When has this show gotten so so so awesome? The fact that this serial has a lot of time to develop the plot and build up suspension probably has something to do with it. But anyway, it's awesome, and I love it, and its characters - especially the new girl, she's very cool. Haven't seen episode #4 yet, as I had a friend over last night and even though she feel asleep before me, watching TV in the middle of the night seemed kind of... rude. So I'm going to watch the final two episodes tonight, and hope that the conclusion will be as amazing as the rest.
I'm also waiting for the current season of the Eighth Doctor Adventures to finish, so that I can listen to a whole lot of Eight and Lucie, again. Those audio plays are way too much fun.
And the new season of Leverage should be airing soon, I think. Wheee! More crazy Parker! :D
I'm still in the middle of trying to read all the bandombigbang fics. So far, I'm about a third in, and liked about two thirds of the fics. I could give you numbers - I have a very, very nerdy excel sheet with all the fics and what I thought of them in it, though I don't exactly remember why that seemed such a good idea at first. It's intimidating! Anyway, I won't bore you with numbers, but damn, I have read way way way too much fic these past weeks, and way too little else. There's Shakespeare and Bond and Stoppard that I should read, and I've been reading slashfic instead. Fandom has seriously screwed with my priorities...
We watched 'Ran' today in our Shakespeare adaptations seminar, a film by Kurosawa. Well, we watched about half of it, it was a bit long for one session. What I saw seemed pretty cool, so I'm thinking about going to the full screening in two weeks or something. I guess I'll decide if I'm in the mood for bloody fightscenes and over two hours of subtitles on the day.
I should really start studying for my 'Cognitive Grammar' exam next week. But that stuff is so dry, and I don't understand half of it, and really, it's very very boring. Meh.
Also need to figure out topics for a term paper in 'Comparing Political Systems: US/UK'. Depending on whether I really need to stick with the topic that our group did a presentation on, I'll need to come up with something that fills at least ten pages and deals with the Queen/British monarchy in some way, or, if I can pick whatever I want, I'll try and find out more about the Welsh Assembly. Not that there are any really really interesting topics for papers in this, but I really need the credits.
The semester is drawing to a close, I have one more week of courses and then I'll be (even more) free to do what I want. Which will hopefully include visiting
peaches in Sweden, and hosting a new challenge at
ficathon_de. Maybe that'll help kickstart my creativity or something. Not that it really worked the last two times, but we'll see.
Also, does anyone have an idea if it's possible to edit tags (I mean, keep the tage, but change what it says) on DW and LJ at the same time, or do I have to do that all by hand? I suppose it might be a bit inconvenient that they are more or less German only, right now...
Well, I guess I have free time coming up. Okay, I'll need to go and buy a carrier for the hamster that gets shipped to Frankfurt this evening now. [Oh, look. They are creeping in again. Oops.]
