Das Catboy-Dings

Things read in 2008

Tintentod [Audio Book], by Cornelia Funke. (Nice Conclusion to the Series. Liked it.)
The Big Over Easy, by Jasper Fforde. (More Fforde, yay! Though I was swimming a bit at times. More familiar with the literary stuff from the Tursday Next series than the Nursery Rhymes this series is based on. Wikipedia helps, though. Loved the car.)
The Fourth Bear, by Jasper Fforde. (Cool! It's fun to have as many traditional German Fairy Tales as English Nursery Rhymes.)

To Say Nothing of the Dog, by Connie Willis (Still nice, still not a lot of plot. Better in English than in German.)
Moon Called, by Patricia Priggs. (Bit Trashy, but otherwise really cool. Need to get my hands on the next volume.)
Blood Bound, by Patricia Briggs. (Still a bit trashy, still a lot of fun. I really like Stefan, hope to get to know him a bit better still. Also like his 'sheep'. The triangle with Mercy, Adam and Sam gets a bit annoying, though. It wasn't as if there was really any development on that front in this book. After Iron Kissed, I really have to go looking for fanfics with that threesome. Or maybe even foresome, if people write Stefan into it. Would like that.)
Iron Kissed, by Patricia Briggs. Mercy does get away with a bit too much in this one (well, no, not really. Just, the 'she should be dead' near the end didn't sit right with me. it made her too much of a spechial snowflake. And I didn't feel she was one up to that point, despite her being the only walker and all that. Those things made sense within the universe. This didn't really. Anyway. she decided on a man, which I guess is good. Hope Stefan gets back into the game soon. The exerpt at the end of Cry Wolf suggested as much. Wheee.
Alpha and Omega, by Patricia Briggs. Liked it. Bit more romance-focused than the Mercy-books, and Charles is an interesting character. I like it how Anna is so totally different from Mercy. And again with the special-thing, but again, I can live with it. If Omegas are rare and you want to tell a story about an Omega, she does have to be special.
Cry Wolf, by Patricia Briggs. Aaand, I'm through with her books. What a fun ride! More, please. I like Charles and Anna, and getting to know Bran better was really interesting. The other wolves in the pack were also interesting characters. It's cool how Bran/Leah makes sense now, somehow, and I hope to see more of the Moor (and have hopes for him and the girl who kept bothering him in his greenhouse.)
