"Wishy-washy" is exactly what it sounded like when I heard a quick description of the current season, but I wasn't sure if that wasn't just thanks to it being a quick summary and the writer & me having different concepts of what counts as "multidimensional" in general. Right, we don't need to put characters on their heads to give them depth, and if done badly, it does more harm than good. (My least favourite plot twist ever: Fuuma suddenly going from "caring older brother" to "sadistic bastard" in X/1999 for no other reason that... what, destiny?)
